Stages Of Uterine Cancer:

If you are diagnosed with endometrial cancer then your doctor needs to determine the type also. Finding the type helps the doctor to provide the best possible treatment for you. Endometrial cancer is divided into types namely-

Type 1 Endometrial Cancer – This type of cancer is less adversarial. Thus, it does not spread to other tissues quickly.

Type 2 Endometrial Cancer - This type of cancer is very adversarial. Thus, they quickly spread to other tissues and require immediate treatments.

Later, your doctor will diagnose the cancer stage. Uterine cancers are interpreted in the following stages:

Stage I Uterine Cancer – Stage where cancer cells have not spread outside the uterus.

Stage II Uterine Cancer – Here cancer has spread to the cervix.

Stage III Uterine Cancer – In this stage cancer has penetrated in the vagina, ovaries, and lymph nodes.

Stage IV Uterine Cancer – The final stage where cancer has entered the bladder and distant parts of the body.

Treatment

Uterine or Endometrial Cancer treatment usually involves removing the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. Another treatment is radiation therapy which uses high-power radiation to destroy cancer cells. Next is chemotherapy which uses heavy drugs and hormone therapy that blocks hormones on which cancer cells depend. Further, there might be the use of targeted therapy which uses powerful medications to target exact cells and stop them from multiplying. Lastly, you are offered immunotherapy that helps your immune system to fight cancer.

Due to unusual vaginal bleeding, this cancer often gets detected at an early stage, and when discovered early the chances of permanently curing this cancer increase. So, if you experience any symptoms mentioned above, consult your doctor or gynaecologist immediately.
