Esophagus cancer

Esophageal cancer (also called food-pipe cancer) develops in the lining of the oesophagus — the muscular tube connecting your throat to your stomach. It is more common in men and typically diagnosed in patients above the age of 50, with smoking, alcohol use and nutritional deficiencies being the major contributing factors.

At Anand Cancer Hospital in Surat, our team led by Dr. Jayesh R. Shah — trained at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York — provides advanced surgical and multi-modal treatment for esophageal cancer, including minimally invasive esophagectomy procedures.
